Azul Blinder nació en 1984. Estudió con Diana Aisenberg y con Juan Astica. Actualmente estudia composición musical en piano con Iván Spector. Su pintura busca crear narrativas que se nutren del misticismo oriental, la estética de los video juegos, música y letras de canciones, la literatura, la cultura popular televisiva de los ochenta y noventa, la astrología, el cine, los deportes y videoclips vistos en YouTube. La escritura sucede previamente a la imagen. Las imágenes se piensan.
Azul imagina casi todo lo que se ve en sus pinturas antes de realizarlas. No hay azar, tampoco una temática a la que aferrarse. Lo que importa es narrar, y como se trata de pinturas, lo narrado está velado.
Azul Blinder was born in 1984. She studied with Diana Aisenberg and Juana Astica, and is currently studying musical composition with Ivana Spector. Her painting seeks to create narratives that draw on eastern mysticism, video game aesthetics, song music and lyrics, literature, popular television from the eighties and nineties, astrology, film, sport and YouTube videos. Writing occurs prior to the image. The images think for themselves.
Azul imagines almost everything seen in her paintings before making them. Nothing is left to chance, neither is there a set subject to stick to. The important thing is to tell stories but because these are paintings, that narrative is hidden behind a veil.
